Which homes are usually a fit for Rest?

Rest is usually the best fit for homes where the primary router can stay on and the main nighttime opportunity is controlling the mesh nodes or WiFi extenders serving the bedrooms. That lets the sleeping areas quiet down while the active parts of the house can remain connected.

What if my home needs the primary router to turn off too?

That is a more advanced situation, not a normal public package path. If the primary router also needs to turn off, the setup becomes more custom, more fragile, and more hands-on than Rest, so we may recommend a custom review or tell you the current package is not the right fit.

What if my home needs something beyond Rest?

If the Home Fit Check shows that your home falls outside the current package rules, we will tell you clearly before checkout. The business is designed around one repeatable plug-and-play package, so we would rather be direct than send the wrong product.

What do the packages cost?

Accepted Answer

Rest is normally $995 for qualified homes. During launch, qualified Founding Homes can order for $795 with free U.S. shipping included. That saves $200 while early rollout capacity is intentionally limited.

What does launch pricing mean?

Launch pricing is not a clearance discount. It is a controlled early-home price while we keep volume limited, confirm the support model, and make sure each order stays within the current Rest package rules.

Do I need a cloud subscription for the core system?

Accepted Answer

No. The core local sleep-control workflow does not require a cloud subscription. The package is designed around local control first. If a future homeowner wants extra remote-access or recovery features, that would be a separate add-on discussion.

What if I already have Ring, cameras, audio, or other smart-home systems?

Accepted Answer

Those systems do not automatically rule out Rest. If Ring needs to stay online overnight, we ask for a quick sanity check: turn off all satellites and extenders, see whether Ring still works, and then check whether a first-floor WiFi unit is holding it up. That less-common first-floor overlap matters most when you also want to quiet a first-floor bedroom.

Rest includes a prepared Rest controller, labeled smart plugs for up to 2 bedroom-serving WiFi devices, free U.S. shipping, setup guidance, and a simple local control experience for the nightly routine. Additional controlled WiFi devices are reviewed before payment and typically add $95-$125 each.

Is this really plug and play?

Rest is designed to be the cleanest plug-and-play package path. It is meant to arrive preconfigured, labeled, and guided so the homeowner is not starting from scratch. If a home needs the primary router to turn off as well, that is no longer the normal package story and may require a custom review instead.

How do you choose the right path?

We look at the size and layout of the home, how many WiFi transmitters cover the bedrooms, where the main equipment is located, and whether security, audio, camera, or smart-home systems need to be accounted for. We then recommend the simplest path that still meets the homeowner's goals and the package rules.

What do you need near the router?

The package needs one simple connection point and nearby power near the main router area. In many homes that means one open network connection on the router or a nearby switch, plus a wall outlet or power strip. We ask up front so the package arrives ready for a clean setup.

Do you replace my existing mesh WiFi system?

Usually no. In most homes we work with the equipment you already have and manage the WiFi transmitters that cover the bedrooms.

What is the difference between WiFi transmitters and WiFi receivers?

WiFi transmitters are devices that broadcast WiFi, such as routers, mesh satellites, access points, and extenders. WiFi receivers are devices that connect to WiFi, such as phones, TVs, laptops, printers, and tablets. The devices we usually control at night are the transmitters, not the receivers.

How long does WiFi take to come back in the morning?

It normally takes a few minutes for the WiFi to fully come back online. We usually configure Sleep Mode to turn back on at 5:55 AM so your WiFi is ready by 6:00 AM.

What if I want WiFi back earlier than the scheduled morning restore?

With Rest, the primary router stays on, so early WiFi access is usually simpler. Rest is designed around keeping the network core stable overnight rather than taking the whole house offline.
